“The world and Being hold together only in movement; it is only in this way that all things can be together.”
Maurice Merleau-Ponty
My work is a confluence of aggregate fantasies, altered materials from LGBTQ archives, and reflections of distorted desires. The final image is arrived at through chance and revision; a series of responses to initial marks, natural phenomena, glitched materials, and welcomed happenstance. Working through multiple media, a disarray of visual information is synthesized together, put through filters of drawing, digital media, traditional printmaking and new-media fabrication. I strive to create images that reframe gritty nightlife aesthetics, a serene pandemonium where linear narrative dissolves and abstraction solidifies. Elements culled from defunct gay bars, optical patterns, and digital moires create political and phenomenological effects blending history and fantasy together.
