My work centers on collage as both a material process and a conceptual approach to making art. Through the resulting studio practice, I explore a broad range of disparate subjects, including queer graphic design history, natural phenomena, and optical illusions, and transform them into novel forms on paper and video. A deep reverence for the Earth and all of its mind-bending beauty, diversity, and bounty is central to the themes explored through my use of imagery and color. Drawing together these elements, a collision between human history, reality, and fantasy blends to create a visual puzzle. Fragments of a disco bar ad, the light of the setting sun, and the soft gradient of the summer sky combine in anomalous unison.
